A bi-weekly Latinx pop-up event that will sell vegan food, desserts and drinks returns to Boyle Heights’ Mariachi Plaza this Friday.

“Veganos en East Los” will take place from 5-10 pm. Vendors like Drink Leche, La Vuena Vida, Dear Mama LA, Mama’s Tamales, Che! Veganos, MedallonLA, Mama Chingona Vegana, Vegan by Victoria’s, Chompton, Conscience Alignment, Straight from La Casa, Latina Crafty Mama, Paradigm by SG and more will set up to sell their goods.

This bi-weekly event is organized by vendors from Drink Leche, Vegan by Victoria’s and La Vuena Vida, who got together to bring awareness about vegan choices and provide healthier food options to Latin communities.

They want to show that all Latin dishes can be made without any animal products and can be turned into delicious, much healthier meals.

On Friday, Sept. 27, Veganos en East Los will be fundraiser for Esperanza Immigrants Rights Projects, an organization that educates, defends and advocates for the immigrant community. All vendors will donate a minimum of 10% of their sales to the organization.

At their first event on September 13th, they were able to raise around $680 for Esperanza Immigrants Rights Projects. According to its Instagram page, the pop-up will happen every other Friday at Mariachi Plaza and will continue to donate their sales to the non-profit group.

The event’s goal is to keep raising more money for that and other non-profits, as well as bringing in plant-based options to Eastside communities like Boyle Heights.
