Authorities say four minors are hospitalized following a crash near the Calzona Street exit off the 5 Freeway that came at the tail end of a police pursuit. 

According to a spokesperson from the Sheriff’s Department, deputies attempted to pull the vehicle over, believing it was stolen when the driver fled.

Following a short pursuit, the vehicle crashed into a cinder block wall near the northbound exit at around 9:54 pm. According to an alert by the LA Fire Department, four teenage males, described as two 14-year-olds, one 13-year-old, and a 12-year-old, were trapped in the vehicle. 

Emergency crews extricated the youth using hydraulic tools and took them to the hospital for treatment. We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
