Officials are still trying to figure what caused a man to drive off a freeway embankment in a fatal single-vehicle crash on the 60 Freeway Monday night.

The incident happened at 8 p.m. when the driver of a white 1999 Isuzu Rodeo going eastbound on the 60 Freeway drove onto the right shoulder of the freeway and ascended a dirt embankment west of Indiana Street, according to a report released by the California Highway Patrol.
