Six people were injured after a minivan struck a bus stop at the corner of First and Chicago streets in Boyle Heights on Friday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Two women and three men were transported to the hospital, NBC Los Angeles reported, and another man received treatment at the scene.

KABC reported that the minivan was T-boned by a drunk driver who ran a red light, sending the van careening into two women near the bus stop and then striking a bicyclist in the road.

The driver of the car allegedly tossed away a beer, attempted to flee the scene on foot and was tackled by a bystander, according to KABC. The news outlet also reported that officers could smell alcohol on the suspect’s breath.
