L.A. County has launched a cash assistance program for small businesses financially affected by the federal immigration crackdown. The application window officially opened Monday.
Supervisor Hilda Solis said the program will provide up to $5,000 to eligible small businesses that had to close, lost workers or were affected by curfews related to federal immigration enforcement.
The Board of Supervisors approved a motion in June to establish a business interruption program that supports small businesses affected by federal immigration raids.
Qualifying businesses must be within L.A. County and can demonstrate they faced financial hardships beginning June 6.
The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Oct. 31. More details on how to apply can be found here.
County leaders say that because resources are limited, eligible businesses who aren’t selected will be added to a waitlist and notified when additional funding is available.
Organizations, foundations or institutions interested in donating to the Small Business Resiliency Fund can reach out to funds@opportunity.lacounty.gov.
