Councilmember Ysabel Jurado has postponed Thursday’s community meeting on safety and immigration in Boyle Heights, which was planned in partnership with Proyecto Pastoral.
“The Councilmember’s schedule can shift at times, but she’s deeply committed to Boyle Heights and values her partnership with Proyecto Pastoral,” Alejandra Alarcon, the director of communications for Jurado, said in a statement.
“Creating space for these community conversations is a priority, and we’re working on finding a new date that works for everyone. We can share it once it’s set,” she added.
The meeting was scheduled for 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Dolores Mission Catholic Church.
The last time Jurado participated in a public forum at Dolores Mission was during the campaign trail last October for a debate with Kevin de León, who was vying for the City Council seat to represent L.A.’s District 14.
