Welcome to another edition of the Happenings in the Heights newsletter, your guide to weekend events in and around Boyle Heights and L.A.’s Eastside.

It’s the final weekend before Thanksgiving and, if the rain doesn’t stop you, there are more than a few opportunities for you to be active, creative or catch live music.

On Friday, Esquina Bike Shop is leading a 10-mile ride from Boyle Heights to East LA and back again. The finish line? Un Solo Sol on 1st Street to enjoy vegetarian and vegan eats after a solid workout. Don’t forget to bring lights and a helmet.

If printmaking is more your thing, take a trip to South Gate for the 2025 Eastside Print Fair to support artists from across the Eastside and beyond. Makers will showcase their printmaking work and techniques alongside a  live DJ, food and coffee, raffles and community vibes.

And if you’re looking to score a free turkey for your family and friends for the Thanksgiving holiday, check out our guide here.

Here’s everything we found for you to do this weekend.
