Last week, we launched the “Capture it” Boyle Heights Beat Photo Contest, a chance for you to share your photos with us through social media.

As explained in our contest rules, each month we’ll have a different theme for you. April’s theme is “A Mother’s Love.”

We’re looking for photos that can translate what a mother’s love means to you or what you love most about your mother; whether it’s a family portrait, your mother’s best dish, her smile… Be creative, and most importantly, make sure to use the hashtag #BoyleHeightsBeat when sharing though Instagram or Twitter, and tag us if using Facebook.

Our contest winner–chosen by Boyle Heights Beat youth reporters– will get their picture showcased on our site each month and will receive a Boyle Heights Beat t-shirt.

To participate:
1. Join and follow us on  Facebook,  Twitter  and  Instagram  (@boyleheightsbt)
2. Snap a photo with your camera or phone
3. Share it on Instagram and/or Twitter using the hashtag #BoyleHeightsBeat(month here)
Facebook users, tag Boyle Heights Beat in your photos
4. Look out for updates on our photo winners

*Contest is open to anyone.
*Please only submit original photos, we want to credit the correct photographer.
*Share as many photos as you’d like.
*The Deadline to submit your photos is April 30.

Happy photo sharing!
