A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot and wounded in the head early Thursday in Boyle Heights, various news outlets reported.

Sgt. Miguel López from the LAPD’s Hollenbeck Division told City News Service that just before 2:30 a.m. officers responded to multiple calls of shots fired in the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. A resident directed officers to an RV, and the wounded teen was found inside the trailer.

The Eastsider reported that the trailer was struck by several bullets and that shell casings were found near the vehicle.

The young victim was taken to a hospital and was reportedly in critical condition following surgery.

No suspect information was available.
