Proyecto Pastoral organized the Summer Programs Fair at Pico Gardens to bring awareness to residents about the programs both adults and youth can participate at either low costs or for free this summer. Eastside Streetsblog picked up some information that was provided at the fair and is including it in the post bellow:
Summer Day Camp at Salesian Boys & Girls Club of Los Angeles
Salesian Boys & Girls Club on 4th and Breed Streets will have Summer Day Camp from June 25 to Aug. 3. The day camp is for children between 6-12 years old and costs $25/week. For people involved with Dolores Misison, the day camp is free.
The SBGC’s Shout program, which is run in partnership with Roosevelt High School, is an after school program for teenagers. The SHOUT program offers workshops in tutoring, college guidance counseling, fitness, music and even a support group for DREAM act eligible students. The SHOUT program is also free.

Family Source computer classes and dance classes
The Lucille Beserra Roybal Family Source on First Street (near the Pico/Aliso Gold Line Station) offers free classes in basic computer skills, child seat safety, English as a second language, and salsa dance. A California ID, student ID, or matricula; proof of Los Angeles residency, and proof of income is needed in order to qualify for Family Source Services.

Enrollment Open for Boyle Heights Community Youth Orchestra
The Boyle Heights Community Youth Orchestra offers free music lessons and instrument rental for youth entering 2nd- 4th grades.The Youth Orcehstra’s summer program ”“ which runs from June 25 to July 27 ”“ takes place from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., Mon.-Fri. Registration begins 9 a.m. on June 25 at Roosevelt High School Music building Room M2.
