The City Council is scheduled to vote on a proposed reward of up to $50,000 to find those responsible for the shooting of a 10-year-old girl in Boyle Heights, who suffered sever injuries after being struck in the head with a bullet.
The girl and her sister were going to cross the street near S. Chicago Street and Rogers Avenue on the evening of June 10 when several shots were fired from a passing vehicle. The shots were apparently intended for a cyclist who was riding near the girls. Instead, the 10-year-old victim was shot in the head. She survived but suffered severe injuries.
