Dozens of kids in East Los Angeles enjoyed the grand opening of a new aquatic center at Belvedere Park last weekend.

In addition to the first Olympic-sized public swimming pool on the Eastside, the $14.8-million center includes a pool for lessons, a leisure pool and a children’s pool.
