A burglary suspect was shot and killed in Boyle Heights by police officers Sunday after holding an elderly man at knife-point inside a home at the Pueblo del Sol Apartments, the Los Angeles Police Department says.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the police responded to a burglary call in the 1400 block of Gabriel Garcia Marquez Street Sunday night when they found the situation. Officers shot and killed the suspect and the elderly man was not injured.

An investigation into the shooting is currently underway.
