Boyle Heights police station

Police are investigating the Sunday night shooting of a man in the stomach as he was on a Boyle Heights street. The Eastsider is reporting police were called to the scene on Cesar Chavez Avenue near Soto Street at around 10:30 p.m.

The victim, a Latino in his late 20s, was transported to the hospital and remains in stable condition, said Detective Zolezzi with LAPD’s Hollenbeck Division. The victim is not a gang member, but police are not ruling out gang involvement, Zolezzi said.
