Police and the Los Angeles City Council are asking for help in the murder of Mitchell Maya. The Los Angeles Times reports the 20-year-old Boyle Heights resident was shot and killed on December 8 on the 700 block of North Breed Street. Councilman José Huízar successfully got a $50,000 reward approved by the city for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer.
The Los Angeles Times reports becoming a barber was Maya’s childhood dream, and that he worked at a barbershop for three years. Maya is described as being talented and a kind father.
