A man died when two men riding their bicycles early Tuesday morning in Boyle Heights were shot multiple times near the Metro Gold Line Indiana station. The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Ricardo Herrera Jr., according to The Eastsider.

Originally it had been reported that the victims were both men in their mid-30s. The two were riding on Indiana Street north of Third Street when they were shot. According to City News Service, the Los Angeles Police Department said the crime was reported at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. Agents from Hollenbeck division responded to the call.

Police said both injured cyclists were taken to a hospital, where one died. The condition of the surviving victim was unknown.

NBC Los Angeles reports that the victims were shot multiple times, with one of them being struck in the chest and the other in the back.

No arrests were reported and police are still investigating the shooting. Anyone with information on the case was urged to call (877) LAPD-247.
