The 70th annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the All Wars Monument at Cinco Puntos was held on Monday, May 29, and Boyle Heights contributing photographer Eddie Ruvalcaba was there to record it. Local politicians –Councilmember José Huízar, County Supervisor Hilda Solís, Congressmember Lucille Roybal Allard and State Assemblymembers Jimmy Gómez and Miguel Santiago– joined Commander Tony Zapata of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4696 and many area veterans in honoring their fallen colleagues.
