A man is in critical condition Monday after he was shot by police during a foot chase in Boyle Heights, reports the L.A. Times.
Los Angeles Police Department began the chase Sunday night near the intersection of 4th and Soto streets night after he was recognized as a known gang member.
When officers approached the man, he began running and pointed a handgun at officers during the foot-chase, an LAPD officer told the Times.
Officers then fired at the man, striking him. No officers were injured in the incident.
