Police have identified the man who was shot to death at a homeless encampment in Boyle Heights early Monday morning, in an incident still under investigation
Paul Rodríguez, 29, of Montebello, was found dead at the scene of the shooting which was reported at 1:10 am under the East 1st Street overpass at Mission Road. Police said the man died of a single gunshot wound; CBS 2 reported the victim was struck in the head.
Authorities told CBS 2 the man was shot outside a tent at a large homeless encampment on that location. It was unclear if the man lived in the encampment, reportedly occupied by some 50 people.
Police investigating the homicide say there is no motive or suspect information.
