A man convicted of raping a woman in Boyle Heights has been sentenced to 46 years to life in state prison.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office says 23-year-old Manuel Larios Munoz was sentenced Tuesday for breaking into a Boyle Heights home armed with a machete and raping a woman who lived there on May 15, 2015. Munoz was found guilty in Dec. 2016 of forcible rape, first-degree residential burglary, and assault along with other charges.
Munoz was arrested a month before that incident for attempting to rape another woman who was sitting in her car across the street from where the other victim lived.
