A man who allegedly pointed a gun at Los Angeles Police Monday night was shot and killed in Boyle Heights.

At 11:55p.m., police attempted to conduct a pedestrian stop after spotting a man carrying a revolver near the intersection of South Gless and East 3rd street, according to police.

Officers fired an unknown number of shots, killing the man believed to be a known gang member, reported the Los Angeles Times.

Facebook users who claim to have heard the incident said there were multiple shots fired.

“It sounded like he unloaded his clip! There’s was like 10 shots,” said Facebook user Gilbert Lomeli.

No officers were injured in the incident. LAPD is currently conducting an investigation.
