In celebration of this month’s International Women’s Day, Las Fotos Project celebrates its second annual “Viva La Muxer Art & Music Festival” this weekend.
The event will feature an all women line-up of over 100 visual artists and over 20 spoken word performers. There will also be eight DJs and live musical acts, three art workshops, Double Dutch and dance performances, and speed networking.
“Viva La Muxer” will also spotlight community organizations that provide services for women and girls, along with women-owned food businesses.
The festival is a fundraiser for Las Fotos Project, a Boyle Heights based nonprofit mentoring organizations whose mission is to encourage teenage girls through photography and creative expression. According to the organization, Las Fotos Project creates a space for teenage girls to collaborate, learn and inspire.
“Viva La Muxer” will take place on Saturday, March 5, from 6 to 11 p.m., at Werkatz, 1698 Naud Street, Los Angeles 90012. Tickets, at $27.37, can only be purchased online at www.vivalamuxer.com
