A hit-and-run car collision happened in Boyle Heights Wednesday and Los Angeles Police Department is alerting the public. It happened at Soto and Folsom streets just after 10:30 p.m. The department used their hit-and-run Twitter account to get the word out about the incident.

“The LAPD Hit & Run Alert Network is established to broadcast information on vehicles possibly involved via Social Media,” the description of the account states.

The vehicle involved is possibly a Nissan SUV going south.

A rash of hit-and-runs have occurred in Boyle Heights in recent years. A young male was struck and killed last year after being hit and dragged for 100 feet before the driver ran off. His body was found near the intersection of East Cesar Chavez Avenue and North Chicago Street. In a separate incident, a young mother was struck and killed on Boyle Avenue north of Whittier Boulevard.
