Police are looking for an armed robber who aimed his gun and pulled the trigger  targeting a cellphone store employee in Boyle Heights, and whose weapon did not fire.

The LAPD says the robber entered a Metro PCS store in the 900 block of North Forest Avenue on May 27. A video released by the department shows the gunman fiddling with the gun as it fails to fire off a shot. The store’s cashier hurries to empty two cash registers and hands the money over to the suspect. The employee was not injured.

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the armed robber.

The suspect is believed to be Hispanic, 25-30 years-old, 5’8” tall, with black hair and a mustache. He wore sunglasses, a cap, and a plaid hoodie during the robbery. Anyone with information on the suspect is encouraged to call LAPD’s Hollenbeck Robbery Detectives at (323) 342-8981.
