A Boyle Heights assistant pastor is leaving her position at her church to join President Donald Trump’s administration.

Omarosa Manigault was one of the most publicized contestant’s of Trump’s reality TV show “The Apprentice.”  Now, Manigault is leaving the Weller Street Missionary Baptist Church after nearly 10 years to join the Trump administration as Director of Communications for the Office of Public Liaison, LAist reports.

Manigault was a prominent supporter of Trump during his presidential campaign.

The Eastsider reports that Manigault delievered her last sermon Sunday. The assistant pastor was being honored inside of the church as anti-Trump protesters picketed outside criticizing the President’s policies.

“The Historical” Weller Street Street Missionary Baptist Church was founded in 1944 and moved to its current location at 129  South Gless Street in 1949.
