Authorities say the cause of a fire that engulfed a fabric plant in Boyle Heights Saturday night is under investigation,

It took 130 firefighters to battle the flames that erupted around 6:43 p.m. at French Fabric, Inc. The fire damaged the roof and firefighters were forced to take a defensive approach to the danger. The Los Angeles Times reports this was due to nearby high voltage power lines.

Fire was both inside and outside the large commercial building at 1621 S. Soto Street and nearby businesses were exposed to the heat. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire before it spread through the neighborhood.

It took the Los Angeles Fire Department two hours to extinguish and no injuries were reported.
