A shooting victim discovered near Ramona Gardens Monday morning is a 15-year-old boy, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told KTLA.

He was one of two injured people found after a crash was reported at Medford and Ricardo Street. The two were taken to a local hospital where they were listed in critical but stable condition.

A Sheriff’s spokesperson told KTLA that two suspects had been detained in nearby Lincoln Park and were being questioned.

According to a statement from the Sheriff’s department, four male occupants in a burgundy Toyota Camry where attacked in a car-to-car shooting at the 3500 block of  Whiteside Street, in East Los Angeles. They then drove the vehicle to Soto and Medford Streets, where they crashed.

At some point, the 15-year-old boy who suffered a gunshot wound got out of the car. He was found collapsed near Soto Street and Valley Boulevard. The driver of the vehicle suffered blunt force trauma. The two victims were discovered by Los Angeles Police Department Officers. The other two passengers were uninjured.

The investigation is being undertaken by the Sheriff’s Department because the shooting took place outside of city limits.
