Highlighting the artistic contribution that Los Angeles-based Chicana/o artists made in American art, LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes presents L.A. Memo: Chicana/o Art from 1972-1989. Organized by AltaMed, LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes, this exhibition investigates how Chicana/o artists adapted new modes of image-making, self-expression, and broke barriers to create a pivotal genre of art to tell their stories through painting, film, television, magazines, newspapers, theater, and music.
