For kids who have a parent with cancer or have lost a parent to cancer

For kids ages 5 – 18 years old who have or have lost a parent or caregiver to cancer. This group meets on the 4th Monday of every month from 6:00pm – 7:30pm at The Wellness Center. Pizza is served and announcements and introductions are made from 6:00 – 6:30pm. From 6:30pm – 7:30pm kids and teens meet in separate groups (without parents) to support each other and share about the cancer in their family. Kids take an activity based approach, starting with a game or art project that helps them unpack their feelings around their parent’s cancer. Teens work in a discussion based setting; sharing, supporting, and offering their perspective. Both groups are bilingual English/Spanish and inform youth on cancer treatments and coping skills.
