Community Clean Up and Lucha for Our Environmental Justice Needs
September 3, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Around Evergreen Cemetery. First Blocks of Whittier Blvd. / Organized Blocks of Boyle Heights is hosting its 29th clean up out of 33 we have done. In the spirit of Anahuac and respect of our Mother Earth Tonancin, Pachamama. We will be meeting at Cinco Puntos at the Raul Morin Square dedicated to all the brave soldiers of Mexican decent. We are a community group dedicated to holding everyone accountable. Ourselves, our neighbors, city departments, CALTRANS, slum lords, and representatives. Join the fight and a clean up. So one day the community won’t throw trash and criminal illegal dumpers get caught, unhoused are housed severely mentally ill treated and Addicted clean. And we have a clean community with respect for the children and elders free from apathy, corruption and neglect. So one day what we are doing doesn’t have to be done because our tax dollars cover it. And because our District 14 the dumping ground for our country’s’ unwanted gets the extra support like roaming cleaning and ground crews with living wage jobs for our community. Please visit our website at http://FirstBlocksofWhittierBlvd.org and sign our petition and join one of our committees like information and education. We are dedicated to help the community in all its fights. Supplies will be provided but heavy duty husky 50 gallon bags are always needed would be appreciated. $5.00 metal scoopers and $5 brooms you could buy from local Market owned by community members Margarita and Marcos would be great because we like to leave them behind and give out to our unhoused neighbors. Lupitas Market located here in BH on Whittier Blvd. /S. Breed St. In between Soto Ans Boyle Ave. Students and others needing volunteer hours, this can and we will make sure will count. We can sign your hours. Also if you have a power washer we will also like to power wash around the cemetery.
