Police said that a 27-year-old man who sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl that he had met and befriended at East Los Angeles College might have attacked other victims.

Joao Affonso has been charged with three counts of sexual assault that took place in Boyle Heights where he lived. Affonso is free on $200,000 bail after having been arrested last month.

On Tuesday police said that Affonso and the victim were both students at the East L.A. College, where they met at the college cafeteria. Affonso and the juvenile studied together in empty classrooms and went out for coffee before the assault took place.
