If you can’t make it to Friday’s East Los Angeles Classic game, you may be able to watch it in the comfort of your own home.

The 78th Classic, the rivalry football game between Roosevelt and Garfield high schools, will be televised live on Time Warner Cable Deportes.

The telecast of the game will include a one-hour pre-game show, all of the halftime presentation, one-on-one interviews with fans and families as well as a complete post-game wrap-up.

“We are honored that Time Warner will provide our kids such a platform to show Los Angeles viewers how two communities come together for one special evening,” Garfield head coach Lorenzo Hernandez said.

Earlier this month, Time Warner Cable Deportes announced plans to provide in-depth coverage of local high school sports, including the face-off between the Boyle Heights Roughriders and East L.A. Bulldogs.

This exclusive coverage of the game comes as a result of the network’s partnership with the California Interscholastic Federation’s Los Angeles City Section. It hopes to provide viewers with unique reporting of not only high school sports, but also of “feel-good” stories that highlight student athletes in Southern California.

“There are so many kids in our community that are giving their best on the field and overcoming incredible challenges off the field that few see because no one is telling their story,” said Pablo F. Urquiza, vice president of Time Warner Cable Deportes. “We are passionate and committed to sharing these stories with the viewers and families of Los Angeles.”
