The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health confirmed 25 new deaths and 425 new cases of 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) on Thursday – including three new cases in Boyle Heights and five new cases in East Los Angeles.

Of the people who died, 16 were over the age of 65 and seven between the ages of 41 to 65 years old. One death was reported by the City of Long Beach and one death by the City of Pasadena.

As of Thursday, Public Health had identified 7,955 cases across all areas of LA County, including 223 deaths. As of Thursday, 1,894 people who tested positive for COVID-19 (24% of positive cases) have been hospitalized at some point during their illness. 

Public Health said that testing capacity continues to increase in LA county, with almost 38,400 individuals tested and 15% of people testing positive. Over the last 48 hours, there have been 1,045 new cases

A digital tool that maps and charts the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases throughout Los Angeles county can be consulted on the County website. On Thursday it showed the number of cases in Boyle Heights as 50, and the total for East Los Angeles as 69.
