Fireworks, free music, and a ‘moon bounce’ – the 10th Annual Boyle Heights Concert and Fireworks Show will celebrate Independence Day weekend on Saturday July 2nd. The show will take place at Hollenbeck Park, 415 South St. Louis Street. The concert starts at 5p.m. and the fireworks will be set off once the sun sets.
The yearly event is organized by the office of Councilman José Huízar, this year in association with Casa 0101.
The event is a safe alternative to lighting and setting off fireworks, which is illegal in the City of Los Angeles. Even the ‘safe and sane’ kind sold in some nearby cities are not allowed in Los Angeles.
Parking for the event is available at the former Linda Vista Hospital. As a reminder, BBQ grills, alcohol, pets, canopies, umbrellas, and glass bottles are not allowed at the concert.
