We’re on our second month of Capture It, a monthly, themed photo contest open to anyone who wants to share their photos with us through social media.

And our second winner has been designated”¦

We asked that you share a photo of your favorite Boyle Heights Streets by using the hashtag #BoyleHeightsBeatMay on Twitter and Instagram, or by sharing with us on Facebook.

After careful review of photos submitted, our youth reporters chose Instagram user @thesickonebrand photo below:

@thesickonebrand is also known as 22-year-old Desiree Rivera who owns her own clothing line named Sick One. Her photo of the downtown skyline was taken by Mariachi Plaza, and is a reflection of the “stomping grounds” she was born and raised in which she feels, “symbolizes the unique lifestyle growing up in the streets.”

Congratulations! Desiree scored a BH Beat T-shirt and his photo will be featured on our website’s home page.
