The numbers are worse for women of color, an issue dear to Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis. Her advice to Latinas seeking higher-paying jobs: go to college. And consider a career in public service. “Giving back to your community is as important as earning a top salary,” Solís told BHB.
