Los Angeles Police Department Hollenbeck officers have arrested a man suspected of committing a series of recent “hot prowl” burglaries in Boyle Heights. The male suspect was arrested Wednesday night, said an LAPD spokesperson who would not provide the man’s name, age or description.
Someone struck four Boyle Heights homes near Hollenbeck Park between East Fourth Street to Whittier Boulevard and Boyle Avenue to Chicago Street between January 19 and March 2. The suspect entered the homes while the victims were sleeping between 2:30 a.m. and 5:40 a.m.
Police say the burglar typically enters the home’s rear through an unlocked door or window. The suspect reportedly touched a victim’s leg and ran away when that person screamed.

The suspect had been described by LAPD as a male, about 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, weighing 180 to 220 pounds.
