A dog at a dog park

Some Boyle Heights residents are pushing for a dog park. The East Sider is reporting that an active group of animal enthusiasts want to turn vacant land between the 5 Freeway and Hollenbeck Park into a canine recreation area.

The Neighborhood Council recently voted to give its support to the project, but a proposal with a budget still needs to be drawn up and sent to Councilman José Huizar’s office for approval.

The group PAWS to Salud y Vida, which plans to seek donations for the project, is collecting signatures for a petition in support of the dog park.
