A body was discovered Thursday floating in the lake at Hollenbeck Park in Boyle Heights.
According to reports, the body was located shortly after 10 a.m. Los Angeles Police Department Hollenbeck Area Capt. Martin Baeza said the department’s underwater dive unit will recover the body and then transfer the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
“It is unknown if the incident was a suicide, crime or accident,” said Baeza. However, “the scene and investigation is being treated as a crime until proven otherwise.”

Police have not yet identified the victim but have confirmed she is a hispanic female.
