Los Angeles charter schools are accepting applications from families for the school year starting in fall 2014. Charter schools are tuition-free, public schools that are open to all students, including students with special needs, regardless of where your family lives.
Applying to a charter school is simple ”“ you just need to contact the school and fill out a simple form with your contact information and the grade your child will be in this fall. If a school receives more applications than it has seats available, the school will hold a blind lottery, as required by state law, then notify families.
Many diverse charter schools serve students in Los Angeles, offering a wide variety of programs. Each charter school is run independently so you must contact the individual school for more information and to submit an application for your child. Admission deadlines vary. Even if the deadline has passed, some schools may still have space available so be sure to contact the school directly to inquire.
Parents can learn more about charter schools and see an interactive map of all charter schools in California at www.calcharters.org.
Schools are listed with the name, grades for which the school is accepting interest forms, form deadline, location and contact information.
